'A few years ago I went in search of Fairies , something I, and both my daughters love. We searched high and low trying to find the right Fairy for our home. After hours, days and weeks of searching and not finding what we really wanted I thought I would try my hand at making my own.' (Original design below)
I am a busy Mum with Children, but have always enjoyed working and furthering my career. A few years ago, sadly my one of my children was diagnosed with a very rare illness and I had to stay at home to care for them.
I had always worked within the luxury retail sector for many years , but have always had an eye for detail and a love of crafts and art, as well as loving vintage.
A few years ago I went in search of Fairies , something me and both my daughters love, we searched high and low trying to find the right Fairy for our home. After hours, days and weeks of searching and not finding what we really wanted I thought I would try my hand at making my own.
I knew in my head what I wanted so started with my sketch pad, after a few attempts of make and do, my first Fairy was born, and I was delighted with my handy work.
My little Fairy was very much admired by friends and family, and I began to get requests for Fairies.
The demand grew and Brown Nest Blue Egg was born.
Each of my fairies are lovingly hand made, hand stiched, and painted all by myself in my little work shop in my home in Avebury.
Each one is completly unique with their own personality and charm. I try and use vintage fabrics and lace and silk ribbons and vintage buttons. I also use delicate florals from suppliers such as Libery , Cabbages and Roses, Peony & Sage, and many others.
I hope these Fairies will last a life time, and can be passed down the generations.
From big girls to little girls, you're never too old for Fairies !
